The Christening

On the 14th day of December in the year 2008, in the town of Flensburg in the north of Germany, the twins, Victoria Florentine Probst Linde and Hamilton Nils Probst Linde were baptised in the ‘HelligĂ„ndskirken’ (The Church of the Holy Spirit) - Danish Peoples Church.

Randi had contracted a virus on the Thursday before and had been feeling very sick, the whole week leading up to the big day! She was feeling so bad that we had made “plane-B’s” on a number of occasions before the christening.
She luckily made it to the church and through the whole ceremony and the lunch which followed.
The two “stars” of the day looked stunning in their christening gowns and then later in their party clothes. On the way into the church Victoria felt that it would be polite to inform the congregation of our arrival, which she did very well. Once that preliminary introduction was out of the way they both behaved very well, even when the man in the dress put warm water over their head…(this part was strange but they didn’t mention anything)

Our ‘scouts’ had located the perfect restaurant, out in a forested area of Flensburg with a play ground for the young members of our party.
The food and service was great and everyone had a lovely time.
We would like to thank the God Parents to Victoria and Hamilton – Claudia and Steffen; Marit and Erik – for accepting and being with us on our day. And we would like to thank all of the lovely guests who travelled from near and far to celebrate our two adorable little children with us in Flensburg and who were so generous with their gifts.
We hardly saw the twins again for the rest of the day as all the guests wanted their turn to hold the babies. We got them for feeding and toilet visits.

We all had a lovely day. We also had those who live too far away to make it to the christening in mind.

(I am trying to get hold of more photos than these, so keep checking for up-dates.)

Cologne Nr. 3

We are now seasoned travellers.
The four of us have returned from Cologne for the third time.

This time we were prepared for everything…well almost.
The only thing we couldn’t for see was the weather, and it was only the weather which was able to disrupt an otherwise smooth trip.

We left last Friday evening. On arrival at Copenhagen airport noticed that our flight was delayed by an hour. Once seated on the plane we were told that the delay
was due to very bad snow storms in Germany earlier in the day…

On the way home from Cologne on Sunday evening we were able to witness these weather conditions with huge snow flurries on the roads which made the taxi drive to DĂŒsseldorf very slow.

We were delayed from take-off by 2 hours which were spent seated ON THE PLANE!!!
The twins were very well behaved during the whole episode, with only minor complaints.
After 7 hours of travel we were all glad to be home.

Below are some photos of this "winter" trip.

Cologne - Second Time Around

After the long journey to Cologne everyone is tired, in fact Pooped! And we all "pass out" in our hotel room.

This is how we change nappies in the middle of the night in the hotel.

The view of the early morning sky out of our hotel room windows on Saterday morning.
We all got some breakfast and then got ready for Yoga (school).

Scenes of our short walk through the city streets of Cologne to Randi's Yoga School.
(a 5 minute walk.)

During the day Randi practices Yoga and Warren takes the twins out to explore the city. Last time we went to the park.

This time we did an history site-seeing tour.

Here looking up at the tower of a medieval church (rebuilt).

And here we are posing in front of the Roman built port which was the entrance through a wall around the city.

Here the Twins are admiring the architecture of this Medieval fort, known as the "Owl Fort", which was completed in 1229!
(The basic structure is still the original).

The building has since been used as a mill and a sail making factory.

At the "Owl Fort" Dad took a break and employed a man to look at the Babies...;)

The Twins looking at the "Twins" (shop).

There are (at present) 4 babies in Randi's Yoga class and to celebrate this, the school has provided each baby with an embroidered shirt.

The ebroidery says "Yoga Baby - Nr 1" for the first born and this week Hamilton and Victoria were presented with their "Yoga Baby - Nr. 2" and "Yoga Baby - Nr. 3" shirts.

What follows is a series of photos of "Yoga Babies - Nr. 1, 2 and 3" admirring each other and their new shirts.

(It was amazing and lovely to see the amazement on each young childs fact at the discovery of "others like themselves"! They really did have fun!)

After such a busy day it is not difficult to understand why Hamilton is sleeping as snug as a bug in a rug!!

Good night...

Bath Time

We (the twins) take a bath once a week in the weekend, when Dad is around to help.
We will soon have to increase the number of baths a week, as they become more active.
Here are a couple of snap shots of them in the "Bath Process". We bath in our kitchen where there is under floor heating. This becomes more and more useful, as we move into the winter months here in the Northern Hemisphere.
